Project: Repair and Protection of the West Stub Pier

• Repair and protection of support columns from further coastal erosion

Project Description:
Support columns of West Stub Pier of the Royal Port Bury Dock Bristol, which was constructed in the 1960’s,  suffered from coastal erosion resulting in significant decrease of size and irregular shape.
The initial brief from the client was that they assumed the columns were suitable in size and strength however they required protection from any further coastal erosion.
Fibrwrap Construction UK has provided a solution to repair and protect these columns using unique solutions of TYFO Fibrwrap Systems. This entailed the wrapping of columns with Tyfo Fibrwrap System SEH-51A Glass FRP with the specially developed Tyfo SW-1S Epoxy for underwater applications and SEH Tyfo Glass Anchors.
