Project: Spot repairs of Concrete Pipe

Scope of Works:
• Spot retrofit repairs in 1200mm Concrete Pipe using Trenchless Method and Technologies

Project Description:

Fibrwrap Construction Spain was contacted to realize localized repairs with Tyfo Fibrwrap system on a section of 1200mm diameter concrete pipe used to carry stormwater.
This infrastructure, buried at more than 12 meters, suffered significant breaks in seven points after being punched by tensioning cables during construction of a neighbouring building.
After cutting these cables running through the pipe, a provisional mortar was applied to tap the holes. In order to recover full integrity as original, the sealing and reinforcing of the pipe in the damaged areas was performed by applying specialized  primer as first, followed by two layers of fiberglass Tyfo SEH saturated with high performance epoxy resin system. These latter were applied in hoop direction around the full perimeter of the pipe.
The work was completed in just two days.This solution was certainly a success and gets full satisfaction from the client.
The effectiveness in execution times, in the economic savings, in the technology itself through the reinforcement and durability provided by the product, along with the benefits that entails Trenchless Technology avoiding any excavation and the annoyances and difficulties always associated.
